Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use Motion to request, book, or take a ride.

About Motion

Motion provides private, pre-arranged ground transportation directly to its clients. Motion is not a rideshare marketplace and does not connect you with independent third-party drivers. Rides are provided by Motion and its authorized drivers.

Service is offered in and around Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg, Clearwater. Availability outside those areas is arranged case by case.

Accounts and access

  • Motion is invite-only. Access requires a valid invite code or approval of an access request.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
  • Do not share, resell, or transfer your invite code or account access.
  • We may suspend or end access for misuse, abusive conduct toward a driver, unsafe behavior, or non-payment.

Booking a ride

  • A booking request is a request, not a guaranteed reservation, until it is confirmed.
  • Provide accurate pickup and drop-off details and a reachable phone number. Incorrect details are the most common cause of a failed pickup.
  • Arrival windows and estimated times are good-faith estimates. Traffic, weather, and road conditions affect them.
  • Requests submitted without an account are treated as inquiries and become rides only once confirmed.

Fares and payment

  • Fares are set by Motion and shown before payment is taken.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. By paying, you also agree to Stripe's terms for that transaction.
  • You authorize Motion to charge the fare for a ride you booked, including any agreed waiting time or additional stops.
  • Rides are a real-world transportation service, not digital content.

Cancellations and no-shows

Cancel as early as you can so the time can be released. Late cancellations and no-shows may be charged, in whole or in part, where a driver has already been dispatched or has arrived and waited. If Motion cancels a confirmed ride, you are not charged for it.

Rider conduct

  • Wear a seat belt and follow all applicable traffic laws.
  • No smoking, vaping, or illegal substances in the vehicle.
  • Treat the driver and the vehicle with respect. Harassment of a driver ends the ride and the account.
  • You are responsible for the cost of damage or excessive cleaning caused by you or your party.
  • The driver may end a ride early if conduct makes it unsafe to continue.

Location and tracking

Live tracking depends on device location, network coverage, and an open app session. It is provided to help coordinate a pickup and is not a precise or guaranteed positioning service. How location is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

Service availability

We aim to keep Motion available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, and maintenance, outages, or conditions outside our control may affect availability or timing.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Motion is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including missed flights, missed appointments, or lost profits arising from delays or unavailability. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Ending your account

You can delete your Motion account at any time from your profile. Deleting your account ends your access. Records we are required to keep for financial, tax, or legal reasons are retained as described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page, and continued use of Motion after an update means you accept the revised terms.
